I gained a lot of knowledge from this team project about what it means to collaborate, contribute to quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. My group’s topic discusses the relationship between nurse-to-patient ratios and patient outcomes. My assumption about the topic was that a higher nurse-to-patient ratio would produce more positive patient outcomes. For two of our research articles, this assumption was true and higher ratios reduced poor outcomes. For the third, the researchers did not find an association.
